EECP (Enhanced External Counterpulsation)

We offer this noninvasive, outpatient procedure to relieve symptoms of angina (chest pain) when patients aren’t able to find relief through other means.

During this treatment, we place a set of inflatables cuffs around the lower body (calves, things, and buttocks). Synchronized with the heart’s natural rhythm using electrocardiograph (ECG) sensors and blood pressure gauges, we use the cuffs to lightly increase the flow of blood back to your heart.

By gently increasing blood flow this way, the procedure may result in blood vessels opening small collateral channels that can act as a natural bypass and relieve angina symptoms. We conduct this treatment gradually, an hour or so per day, over a period of weeks.
