Angioplasty and Vascular Stenting

We use this minimally invasive procedure to improve blood flow in arteries and veins. It involves guiding a catheter with specialized instruments into an artery or vein to remove a blockage or widen an area that is narrowed. Sometimes, we also place a small wire mesh tube (called a stent) in the newly opened artery or vein to keep it open.

Atherectomy

This procedure is one we use to remove the plaque buildup from a blood vessel to increase blood flow. We might recommend it if a vessel has hard plaque with a lot of calcium or if the buildup is around branches or in vessels that are not easily treated with stents.

Thrombectomy

We use this surgical procedure to remove a blood clot from inside an artery or vein, typically in an arm or leg. Blood clots block the flow of blood in your body.

Vein Disease

The vascular system is a complex network of blood vessels, arteries, and veins that carry blood from the heart throughout the body. Fortunately, most tests for vein issues are done via painless, noninvasive ultrasound, and many of the treatments below can be performed right in our office. To prevent blood clots and strokes, our physicians’ fundamental goal is to find potential issues before they develop.

Laser Surgery for Varicose Veins (Venous Ablation)

We use this safe and effective procedure to close the affected veins. The laser, a very focused beam of light, damages the vein, causing it to die. The appearance of varicose veins will disappear gradually in the year after the procedure.
